Public Policy
Pamela has advocated for equality on Capitol Hill, at the UN, and at the city and county levels as an appointed commissioner and elected Democratic party member.
U.S. Department of State
Since 2017, Pamela has served as a Mentor for TechWomen, a program funded by the U.S. Department of State to advance female tech talent in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. She has coached teams from Egypt and Tunisia regarding social impact projects. She served on delegation trips to Nigeria and Sierra Leone. In 2012, she was selected as one of fifteen Americans to participate in Young Turkey, Young America, an exchange program funded by by the U.S. Department of State and administrated by the Atlantic Council.
United Nations (UN)
In 2013, Pamela was invited to be an Expert at UN meetings of senior leaders in Geneva and New York regarding the UN System-wide Action Plan (UN-SWAP) on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (GEEW). She also provided consulting support regarding data analysis and the development of policy recommendations.
U.S. House of Representatives
In 2008, Pamela was selected as Women’s Research & Education Institute (WREI) Legislative Fellow in the Office of Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney. She was the lead staffer who drafted, introduced, and successfully passed House Resolution 1227 (110th), condemning the sexual violence crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
County & City Government
Pamela served as an appointed commissioner on the Planning Commission of the City of San Mateo and the Commission on Aging for the County of San Mateo. She was elected by the public to the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee, winning over incumbents. She was the youngest member to serve on each of these bodies.
